There is no time like now

t's never too late to try something new. Life is too short to turn something you can try today into "well, maybe someday". I use the word try because we may not be a success at our endeavors and that is quite alright. Sometimes we need to push past the what ifs and put ourselves out there knowing full well we may fail more than once. Failing does not make you a failure. It means you tried something challenging. Get out of your comfort zone and enjoy the process and journey of reaching for a goal that seems as high as the sun.

I've been reflecting on the path I took toward racing for a decade of my life. I had goals for the first time not knowing if I could reach them. I worked incredibly hard and enjoyed it all. The passion for all those goals have passed now that I have reached them and I am trying things that I wanted to try as a teen. Doing a headstand while surfing, surfing bigger waves - check. Learning to ride that short board I bought 20 years ago, playing the ukulele - starting the process.

The challenging part for me is fully letting go of what once was and embracing where I am in the present. Listening when I have a Lyme flare and being okay with allowing my body all the down time and recovery that it now needs. I do what I can, when I can and enjoy all those times. I stay in the moment. Embrace those moments. The challenges and the bliss of living life to the best of my ability.

Big or small. Set a goal, and just try.
